PICTURE PERFECT

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

OasisAgainstViolence agrees.

As such, we've compiled a list of motion pictures, designed to educate our survivor community on the disturbing nature of Social and Domestic Violence.

May they unveil the plight of all who suffer, many in silence, so as to continue to raise awareness of such a destructive phenomena happening all over the world.

And best of all, may they serve to teach our women and girls that THERE IS NO WAR IN LOVE.

FOR COLORED GIRLS - 2010

This film serves a phenomenal depiction of the deeply interwoven devastation caused by dysfunctional, malevolent, and misogynistic relationships.

STALKING LAURA - 1993

Some men refuse to take no as an answer and set out on a mission to destroy not only the lives of their primary targets, but all along their paths of narcissistic rage and coercive control.

DANGEROUS INTENSIONS - 1995

Walking away from abusive and volatile relationships may prove deadly when women fail to accept abusive behavior.

A tale of deception and betrayal on so many levels, this film is a stark revelation into the dangers of Domestically Violent relationships.

WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT - 1993

A cult favorite, WLGTDWI is the deeply troubling story of famed singer Tina Turner's tumultuous relationship with husband Ike Turner.

Not only is this film a story of inconceivable abuses suffered at the hands of an intimate partner, but also one of redemption and of the victories won in surviving them.

For some, there is hope and love to be found at the ends of our rainbows.

DECEIVED - 1991

Some survivors could've never conceived of the depth of betrayals suffered within the vestiges of a seemingly picture perfect relationship.

This film is a disturbing look into the travesties of beguile and an unequivocal measure of dissimulation and violence within a volatile marriage

NOT WITHOUT MY DAUGHTER - 1991

For some, the glimmer of hope that all is well within our relationships is more than enough for us to make seemingly normal relational decisions with the men who profess to love and care for us.

But unbeknownst to an array of survivors, those we trust the most might prove ravenous wolves in sheep's clothing, only vying to exploit and harm us in ways inconceivable, leaving us deeply wounded and trapped within the confines of abusive circumstances.

THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE - 1992

While the face of Domestically Violent relationships is frequently touted as those of intimate partners, this is far from the stark realities of Social And Domestic Violence.

In fact, an array of relationships, no matter the level or type of intimacy may prove incumbent towards disdain and violent proclivities, even if only work related or friendships.
